Am alternative to SillyClock ...Som Nath,

Som Nath,
Am alternative to SillyClock is the CubeClock:
http://timewitharduino.blogspot.ca/2011/11/cubeclock.html
It runs the exact same software, but it uses the smaller LED matrix display, available here:
http://timewitharduino.blogspot.ca/2011/08/new-in-store-bi-color-led-mini-display.html
FlorinChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04330573900125042405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1523577297508817869.post-91369628618548313512012-08-19T09:04:52.366-04:002012-08-19T09:04:52.366-04:00Som Nath,
You have various options for SillyClock:...Som Nath,
You have various options for SillyClock:

1. build it yourself, using my LED matrix kit: http://timewitharduino.blogspot.ca/2010/12/new-and-improved-dual-led-matrix-shield.html, the Wiseduino (http://timewitharduino.blogspot.ca/2010/11/wiseduino-kit-available-for-sale.html); if you want to battery powered and not tethered to a power source, then you also need an battery shield, like this one: http://www.nuelectronics.com/estore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=17

2. same as the above, but replace the Wiseduino with your own Arduino + real time clock (DS1307);

3. you can buy the SillyClock assembled, tested and ready to be used, as seen in the picture;

Essentially, if you want to build it yourself, the cheapest solution is to buy the LED matrix shield kit from me. It is $40, with free shipping to India. I will include the 2 laser-cut plexiglass plates, the hardware (standoffs, screws etc) for an additional $5. I could also include the DS1307, the crystal, the battery holder and the coin battery for free.
FlorinChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04330573900125042405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1523577297508817869.post-6468564783261635802012-08-19T06:50:16.627-04:002012-08-19T06:50:16.627-04:00what will be the cost for Silly Clock to send to I...what will be the cost for Silly Clock to send to INDIA.

SOM NATH
Email:somnathkolkata@hotmail.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1523577297508817869.post-10507967145496920952011-10-21T14:17:54.223-04:002011-10-21T14:17:54.223-04:00Adam,

Wiseduino (which I sell);
3. battery shield (with lipo battery, charger etc), which can be bought from different vendors; the one I used is from nuelectronics.com;
4. the 2 laser-cut plates (contact me if you want a set).

So you can put this clock together with 2 kits from me plus the battery shield from somewhere else.

It looks nice, indeed. Wiseduino has an on-board power switch, which turns on-off the clock (and saves the battery when not in use).FlorinChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04330573900125042405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1523577297508817869.post-4974593165244272532011-10-21T14:05:44.756-04:002011-10-21T14:05:44.756-04:00Are there any plans to offer this version as a kit...Are there any plans to offer this version as a kit?
